ATLANTA YOUTH PROJECT

Founded 21 years ago, The Atlanta Youth Project operates a summer day camp for inner city kids. The 58 acre farm provides activities such as canoeing, archery, swimming, a petting zoo and a vegetable garden! Most of the children served have never had experiences like these and greatly benefit from exposure to them. The camp is funded solely by individual and corporate donations.

Projects With Purpose teamed Microsoft Corporation with the Atlanta Youth Project. In just one day volunteers constructed an outdoor pavillion on the lake, cabins for overnight campers, and a service shed for a second pool to be completed in a few months. The valuable contributions made by the Microsoft team increased the number of children the camp could serve and placed the development plan five years ahead of schedule.
